     I am a 55-year-old, SS-genotype Sickle Cell warrior living in Santa Rosa, California, USA. I’m also a mother, a grandmother, an employee. As of November 26, 2019, I am completely detoxed from all morphine, oxycodone, tramadol, and all other narcotics. I feel very blessed to have made it this far, and will continue to advocate for better treatment and understanding by the medical profession. The biases and attitudes that exist are costing lives because patients avoid seeking care due to the attitudes of the people who are there to treat us.
