• How are you getting your prescriptions?

Posted by MG Community Member on June 10, 2020 at 2:00 pm

Those of us with sickle cell have been advised to practice shielding during this lockdown, however, we still need to get our prescriptions.

Thankfully my dad has been going to the pharmacy on my behalf to collect my medication for me, how have you overcome this obstacle of shielding to do so?

In my country there is new procedure for medical insurance companies that allow to us to got our prescriptions for almost nine months forward so its enough to go only one time to your doctor to get our prescriptions during this period of time unless we have an urgent case so we have high priority to got urgent permission to reach the hospital in a little time only and this is a great step for us.

Wow, that procedure seems fantastic! If you don’t mind me asking which country is this? This seems like such a great initiative that many would benefit from.

They seem to have a very efficient health care service there. Please keep us updated with any changes to the procedures.
