Short Bio |
Fortunately, my brother and I were diagnosed as babies with SCT. But we were “unusual” because we suffered through periodic crises as if we were “true” sicklers. The mystery was solved when I was in college and a physician there ordered a test that revealed that I also had a trait for βThalessemia Minor. My brother was tested and he also had it, which explained to us the reason we experienced bouts of painful crises.
