Have you noticed the effects of climate change in your area?
I have definitely noticed that it is getting much colder than it was in previous years. This could be bad for people with sickle cell as this is more likely to increase exposure to triggers that will cause a crisis.

I can imagine this experience being a complete invasion of privacy and it may not be the best thing for patients, but unfortunately, many hospitals do not have the resources to accommodate people in individual rooms.

The consumption of alcohol goes hand in hand with dehydration, which is a well-known trigger of a sickle cell crisis, so I think that extra caution should be taken when drinking!

I understand that the pain can be so unbearable that the only thing you can do is take medication and rest till the pain subsides. It is important that you do what’s best for you and listen to your body.

Sometimes, I want to switch off from the world and just enjoy a little be of me time. The time when I can switch off, without any real care or feeling of responsibility.
I do this by playing some video games, my favourite being Fifa, Call of Duty, and up to very recently a game called Fall Guys.

We all have goals for ourselves and things that we want to improve on.
Whether that is eating more veggies, exercising more, or simply taking more breaks during the day.
