“You don’t look like a sickle cell patient”
This is a comment I hear a lot. I think it is because of my build, that I look bigger than what a person thinks a typical sickle cell patient should look like. When making such a statement, the person may mean well but it may come across a little insulting. What do you think and how do you respond?
