Do you identify as disabled?
Happy Friday Everyone!
I had an interesting conversation this week and I wanted to get your opinion.
Many people don’t like the term ‘disability’ and tend to avoid it when talking about sickle cell. Some of the reasons that given were that they did not want to seem different or that they require any special help. On the other hand many people recognise sickle cell as a disability and accept any help or assistance that comes with this.
What is your opinion? How do you feel about this?
