  Do sickle cell patients have a high pain tolerance?

  I put my hand up and admit that this is something that I believed until a couple months ago when I saw a fellow sickle cell warrior shouting and wincing at the pain of an injection. I honestly believed that because of the pain that we regularly experience we have a higher pain tolerance, but this is not the case.
