How do you explain what sickle cell is to someone who does not know?
Nowadays, when I tell someone I have sickle cell I expect them to know what it is. However, occasionally, I come across someone who has no clue, they may have heard the name sickle cell, but they don’t know how it actually effects someone. I then have to give them a quick lesson on what sickle cell is & I try not to scare them too much.
