  • Who taught you what you know about sickle cell?

    Growing up we would have heard the term “sickle cell” a lot, but who was the person to sit you down and actually explain to you what it meant?

    Was it your parents, siblings, teachers, doctors or your own research?

    my doctor who explain that for me because in that time my parents have no idea about this disease.

    My mom taught me what I know about Sickle Cell. She had Sickle Cell and my dad had Sickle Cell trait so she was more knowledgeable and shared her experiences with me.

    For me, it was watching a friend and family member go through it, As I got older there was a lot more information and knowledge around it which made it easier to grasp
