I never get a response when I reply to questions here. I am one with sickle cell that people look up to or speak of. People just don’t go on social media. I was told I’ll only make 19 but I’m almost 60. I’m 58 and I don’t find any good resources unless we create it ourselves

I would rather have bone marrow transplant. It’s not in the cards for me and that is fine too

I have been fortunate to have a good hold on my disease. I clean and stay away from germs. As much as possible, I don’t invite a lot of people around me so the infection rate is low. Any news I usually get is within sickle cell disease realm. Liver function, heart, oxygen, (which I’m on bc Blood is low)

I received my first Pfizer shot and the second one is March 8. I didn’t have any issues with the first one and don’t expect any with the second one

I am the only one of my siblings with sickle cell. I also do not have a full blood sibling. My mother had a son not with my dad. My dad had three other daughters, not with my mom.

I currently use oxygen. I have an oxygen concentrator and portable tanks. I am trading in the portable tanks for a portable concentrator.
